ASI UKPO DIAGNOSTICS & MEDICALS LIMITED, operator of ASI Ukpo Hospitals, is about to commence operation of the ASI Ukpo Comprehensive Cancer Centre, Calabar. This facility is poised to be the premier comprehensive cancer treatment centre in the South-South and South-East of Nigeria. We seek suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacancies:

JOB TITLE:                               BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER

TYPE OF EMPL OYMENT:       Full-time

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Minimum of B.Eng in Electrical/Electronic or Biomedical Engineering, B.Tech., or equivalent qualification. 
• A minimum of 5 years cognate post-qualification experience in the position of Biomedical Engineer
• Verifiable proficiency in computer hardware and networking will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with Biomedical Engineering Technology certification, with at least 10 years on-the-job experience may also apply. 
• Proven experience and proficiency in the installation, operation, maintenance, servicing, calibration and repair of biomedical equipment, including medical laboratory, medical imaging, radiotherapy and ancillary hospital and medical devices and equipment.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, IT, communication and problem solving skills.
• A logical and enquiring mind, concentration, attention to detail, manually dexterous and with a great deal of physical stamina. 

Ability to:

• Work under pressure, within a multidisciplinary team and/or alone.
• Design, develop, test and modify medical products, equipment and devices.
• Effectively liaise with medical, engineering and scientific staff to achieve set goals.
• Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment. 
• Train hospital staff on safe handling and use of biomedical equipment.
• Advise hospital administrators on the planning, acquisition, and use of medical equipment.
• Analyse and interpret data, write reports and effectively maintain documentation.
