Job Title: Base Nurse

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

  • We’re on an evolutionary journey where we’re changing our story. We are looking to hire an experienced Base Nurse to join our diverse team in our Company.
  • In this role, you will work closely with our with the Senior Nurse to ensure a smooth running of the clinic and delivery of quality health care to all personnel in the Group.

 

Responsibilities

As a Base Nurse you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering quality timely Nursing Care to all patients at all time in line with best Nursing practices.
  • Maintaining good infection Control Measures in the clinic.
  • Coordinating the day to day patient care by ensuring proper registration and assessment to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that Doctor’s prescriptions are administered accordingly towards delivery of quality medical care.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of daily patient attendance.
  • Administering drugs and dress wounds.
  • Treating minor injuries and remove sutures.
  • Handling medical equipment such as suction machine, administration of oxygen, automated external defibrillator and ensure they are clean and in a ready to use state at all times.
  • Actively involved in health surveillance programs of the company.
  • Giving medical advice and health awareness to workers on site.
  • Ensuring that the clinic is maintained in a neat healthy state.
  • Monitoring, recording, and reporting symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed reports and records of patients care.
  • Ensuring proper segregation and collection of medical wastes from the project sites.
  • Ensuring strict compliance to QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned.

 

 What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in nursing science (BNSC) Certificate. Must be BLS and ACLS Certified.
  • Minimum of 3 years cognate experience in similar role preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Registered member of the Nursing Council of Nigeria.

  • Good communication skills
  • Good Interpersonal skills and cultural awareness
  • Proficiency in BLS and ACLS skills
  • Good knowledge of Nursing care and use of Basic Medical Equipment.
  • Effective Medical Emergency response skills and triage organization.
  • Good understanding of Patients care and management.
  • Sound knowledge of drug administration, interactions and use.
  • Time management Skills
  • Client focused and good customer service skills.
  • Good knowledge of Companies QHSE Policies
  • Ability to promote health education and wellbeing among all personnel.
  • Ability to promote sustainable infection control measures in the clinics.
  • Good Computer skills and ability to communicate effectively.
