Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Biomedical Engineer to support the effective management, maintenance, and functionality of medical equipment and technology within our healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair biomedical and medical equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on medical devices and equipment.
  • Perform regular inspection, testing, calibration, and safety checks of equipment.
  • Identify equipment faults and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service history.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for equipment repairs, procurement, and technical support.
  • Ensure medical equipment complies with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to healthcare staff on the proper use of equipment.
  • Assist with equipment assessment, replacement, and procurement recommendations.
  • Support the development and implementation of equipment maintenance schedules.

Skills

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good knowledge of biomedical equipment and healthcare technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and equipment specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering and equipment management software is an advantage.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Experience with the maintenance and troubleshooting of medical equipment is required.
  • Experience working with equipment vendors and service providers is an added advantage.

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess strong ethical and professional standards.
  • Must be willing to work across hospital units and respond to urgent equipment-related issues when required.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Candidates must be resident in or willing to relocate to Benin City, Edo State.
  • Must be willing to comply with the organization’s policies, procedures, and safety standards.
