Specific Objectives

  • The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of CIHPs integrated community and facility based Pediatrics and adolescent HIV care and support activities.
  • Designed and implement proven and innovative high quality clinical care and transfer such skills to facility staff, these includes management of Opportunistic infections, adherence to care and treatment and psychosocial support in line with the GON/PEPFAR guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing technical assistance to health care facilities supported by CIHP in focal states. Such assistance include training of staff in clinical management of HIV/AIDS, initiating and supervising ART clinics at hospital level, providing ongoing mentoring and supportive supervision to pediatric clinicians, assisting facility-based teams to develop/improve Pediatrics care systems, referral systems, adherence support systems, patient flow, medical records etc.
  • Perform site visits and site assessments of treatment facilities to assess, initiate and enhance pediatric care and treatment services.
  • Serve as a resource for the evaluation of ongoing pediatrics care and treatment programs and in the subsequent development of new and/or expanded programs for the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS in infants, children and teenagers.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Degree in Medicine, Public Health or a related field; or a master’s degree or equivalent in public health or related fields, a fellowship in Pediatrics will be an added advantage
  • At least 5 years’ post NYSC experience in developing country health care programs or program support function
  • Knowledge of the policies, regulations, reporting formats, and cultures of principal donors, including USAID, EC, DFID, CDC/PEPFAR, and others
