RENEWAL APPLICATION 

Renewal of professional licence for registered nurses is done every three (3) years. Nurses are expected to renew their licences after the expiration period with the sum of N10,500 After the 3 months period of grace, the applicant is expected to pay addition of N5,250 as penalty. Each year after the expiration of licence attracts 5250.

PROCESS FOR RENEWAL OF LICENCE 

  • Initiate online application for licence renewal on https://licence.nmcn.gov.ng 
  • Upload scanned copy of original recent coloured passport photograph with white background. 
  • Upload scanned copy of original Certificates of Registration issued by Council Upload scanned copy of original Certificate of attendance for Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP).
  • Payment of N10,500 for renewal and penalty of N5,250 for each year of default on Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria through REMITA on the renewal portal

Requirements for renewal application 

Passport photograph: 

  • Coloured passport with white background 
  • No eye glasses 
  • No cap for men 
  • No head tie for women except for religious reasons 
  • All facial features must be visible including the ears. 
  • No bogus hair style and the hair must be well packed

Continuing Nursing Education Programme: 

These are Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP) and other Continuing Education Programme approved by Council. For renewal application, 6 credit units (CEU) of continuing education programme are required out of which 3CEU must be MCPDP and 3CEU from other approved educational programme e.g. NANNM, WACN,WCEA, etc. NOTE: 3CEU of any approved continuing education programme is acceptable for now due to the issue of the pandemic.

Exemption for continuing education programme: 

Applicant running a full time programme in any approved institution 

  • Admission letter 
  • Introduction letter from HOD of the institution with letter headed paper 
  • Student ID card 

Applicant who has completed full time program in approved institution 

Certificate or Statement of result within 12 months of completion of full time programme 

Certificate: Certificates of all professional qualifications from Council or Notification of Registration must be attached. 

Payment : Payment must be made through Remita using the RRR code generated in the course of the application

  • Residence permit or international driver’s licence
