Delta State Government Welcomes First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for Health and Empowerment Initiatives

Asaba, Delta State – The Delta State Government has warmly welcomed Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as she embarks on a significant humanitarian mission to support healthcare workers and advance maternal and child health in the South-South region.

During her visit, the First Lady presented 10,000 professional kits, including Crocs and scrubs, to midwives across the South-South geo-political zone. This initiative is part of her commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and supporting frontline workers who play a crucial role in maternal and child health.

Additionally, she flagged off the "Free to Shine" Initiative (South-South zone), a program under the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), aimed at combating maternal and child mortality while promoting healthcare accessibility for women and children.

Welcoming the First Lady, Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, commended her dedication to improving the lives of women and children through various programs under the Renewed Hope Initiative.

"Your Excellency, we celebrate your valiant efforts in championing initiatives that uplift women and children. May the Almighty grant you continued strength, wisdom, and success in this noble mission," the Governor stated.

The visit marks another step in the federal government's ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access and ensure better health outcomes for vulnerable populations across Nigeria.
