The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board was first established by Kaduna State Government via edict No. 7 of 1978. The same edict was modified and adapted under CAP 63 of the laws of Katsina State of Nigeria. In 1993, the Board was merged with the State Ministry of Health through an Executive order. However, it was reactivated on 30th March, 1998 operate autonomously, with a Governing Board under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The Board has under control all staff at the Headquarters, State Medical store, Government House Clinic, Psychiatric Hospital as well as all those working at the 18 General Hospital in the Katsina, Daura, Funtua, Malumdfashi, Mani, Kankia, Dutsinma, Batsari, Baure, Babbaruga, Rimi, Ingawa, Musawa, Kankara and Danmusa.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Dental Technician

Location: Katsina

Job Description

• The Dental Technician is responsible for designing, fabricating, and repairing dental prostheses such as dentures, crowns, and bridges to support patient treatment within KTHSMB healthcare facilities.
• The role involves working with dental impressions, models, and specifications provided by dentists, ensuring precision and quality in all laboratory work.
• The technician will maintain dental laboratory equipment, adhere to infection control standards, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure effective patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate dental prostheses including dentures, crowns, and bridges
• Interpret dental prescriptions and impressions from dentists
• Prepare and cast dental models from impressions
• Repair and adjust existing dental appliances
• Maintain and operate dental laboratory equipment
• Ensure quality control and precision in all laboratory work
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures in the laboratory
• Manage materials and inventory for dental laboratory use
• Document laboratory work and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with dentists to meet patient-specific requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Dental Technology
• Basic prosthesis fabrication skills
• Knowledge of dental materials and laboratory procedures
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Relevant experience.
