Job Title: Dentist
Location: Mowe / Shimawa, Ogun]
Job Summary
The Dentist will be responsible for diagnosing and treating oral health conditions, providing preventive and restorative dental care, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene. The role requires clinical competence, attention to detail, and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine patients’ teeth, gums, and oral tissues to diagnose dental conditions
- Perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, scaling and polishing, and root canal treatments (as qualified)
- Diagnose and manage dental caries, gum diseases, infections, and oral pain
- Prescribe medications such as antibiotics and pain relief when necessary
- Interpret dental X-rays and other diagnostic tests
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and dietary habits affecting dental health
- Maintain accurate dental records and treatment plans
- Ensure proper sterilization and infection control procedures are followed
- Refer patients to specialists (e.g., orthodontists, oral surgeons) when required
- Work collaboratively with dental nurses, hygienists, and other healthcare staff
- Adhere to professional ethics, safety standards, and clinic policies
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS/DMD)
- Valid practicing license with the relevant Dental Council
- Minimum of [1–3] years clinical experience (fresh graduates may apply)
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Good communication and patient-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
