PREAMBLE

Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, was established in 1973. It is a first generation and well-established Federal Polytechnic with the function of providing technology-based education, training and development of skills. It has three campuses, located along the Benin-Auchi-Okene highway. The Institution has a vacancy for the post of DIRECTOR OF MEDICAL SERVICES.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Candidates must possess M.B.B.S and be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, with twenty (20) years post qualification cognate experience or possess a post-graduate medical qualification in medicine with at least 18 years post qualification cognate experience.
2. Be registered with the relevant professional bodies and associations;
3. Have good knowledge of computer applications;
4. Must not be more than fifty-nine (59) years of age as at the date the post will become vacant;
5. Be physically and mentally fit (with evidence from a Government hospital); and
6. Applicants for the position must possess at least ten (10) years cumulative cognate experience in senior management, preferably within the Federal Polytechnics.

 

TENURE

The tenure shall be a single non-renewable term of five (5) years.

 

DUTIES

(a) The Director of Medical Services shall be responsible to the Rector for the day to day running of the Department and exercise leadership control of the Department;

(b) Taking over-all charge of the Medical Services;

(c) Coordinating the work and activities of subordinate staff of the Polytechnic Cottage Hospital;

(d) Responsible to the Rector for the smooth running of the Medical Services Department; and

(e) Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Rector.

• The salary for the position is CONMESS 07
• Other terms and conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.
