Job Title: Endoscopy Nurse

About the Role

• The Endoscopy Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
• The role involves preparing patients and equipment, assisting physicians during procedures, monitoring patients, and ensuring adherence to infection control and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare endoscopy suites, equipment, and instruments before procedures.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care, including patient education and support.
• Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to any complications.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Manage endoscopy equipment, ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training activities.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
• Must have 2–3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an endoscopy or gastroenterology unit.
• Certification or training in endoscopy nursing.
• Strong knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and endoscopic procedures.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations.
