We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Family Physician
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Contract: 3-year renewable contract
Duties
- Provide round-the-clock medical care for all cases presented at the clinic, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
- Coordinate referrals to external healthcare facilities in liaison with the unit head, e.g. dental, obstetrics, surgery, etc., as the need arises.
- Conduct clinical investigations using advanced laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
- Monitor and assess the health impact of hazardous chemicals on staff involved in chemical handling or spraying activities.
- Participate in periodic medical screening exercises for IITA staff and the community.
- Collaborate with the unit head in the discharge of clinical duties.
- Contribute health education and promotion articles to the institute’s bulletin, as assigned by the Head of the IITA Clinic.
- Facilitate/conduct relevant occupational health-related activities across various units as directed by the Head of Unit.
- Organize and lead in-house continuing medical education sessions for clinic staff, focusing on clinical competencies and customer service skills.
- Take weekdays and weekend calls.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- MBBS / MBChB or Post Graduate fellowship qualification in General Medical Practice (Family Medicine).
- The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment. Professional Registration with the Nigerian Medical Council is essential.

- Have broad experience in general medical practice, including work in accident and emergency units.
- Be skilled in the intensive care management of various subspecialty medical problems.
- Be experienced in managing inpatient medical cases effectively.
- Be a qualified Family Health Practitioner in a metropolitan city.
- Be proficient in the use of computers and medical software applications.
- Demonstrate strong humanistic qualities, including compassion, empathy, and patient-centred care.
