The Federation of Nigeria Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (FeNPIA) representing all stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) on the recently signed transformative and visionary Executive Order, aimed at enhancing medicines and health security and unlocking the healthcare value chain in Nigeria.
This is a very bold initiative, designed to reduce local production costs, lower the prices of medicines and medical supplies, and stimulate local investments thereby positioning Nigeria as a hub for pharmaccutical and life science manufacturing. This will ultimately enhance the affordability and accessibility of essential medicines for Nigerians.
FeNPIA also expresses our profound appreciation to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate, the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and the Attorney General of the Federation for their tireless efforts in drafting and signing of this Executive Order. Your dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians is evident in this progressive move.
This Executive Order achieved through a robust engagement with industry stakeholders is a significant stride towards realizing the objectives of the Presidential Initiative on Healthcare Value Chain (PVAC). It addresses a few critical challenges in Nigeria's healthcare sector, promoting economic growth and enhancing the capacity of the sector.
As we move forward, FeNPIA remains committed to supporting the implementation of the Executive Order and ensuring its benefit reaches every Nigerian citizen. We therefore advocate for the swift and efficient implementation of this order to fully realize its transformative impact on our healthcare sector.
Thank you for your visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to our nation's progress.
