Deda Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and competent Genetics Assistant to support genetic testing. The successful candidate will assist in sample handling, documentation, and coordination of genetic procedures while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection, labeling, and proper handling of genetic samples.
• Support preparation and processing of specimens for genetic and laboratory analysis.
• Maintain accurate patient records, test documentation, and laboratory logs.
• Coordinate with clinicians, embryologists, and laboratory personnel on testing requirements.
• Ensure proper storage and transportation of specimens in line with safety protocols.
• Adhere strictly to confidentiality standards for patient genetic information.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring operational readiness.
• Comply with infection prevention and laboratory safety guidelines.
• Support quality assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Genetics, Biology, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of genetic testing or laboratory procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and patient safety.

Experience

• Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a clinical laboratory, IVF, or diagnostic environment.
• Experience in genetic or molecular laboratory processes is an added advantage.
