Description
Clinix Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dedicated Histopathologist to join our pathology team.
We are committed to providing top-quality diagnostic healthcare services and are looking for a professional who is passionate about accurate disease diagnosis through tissue analysis and contributing to patient care excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed histopathological examinations on biopsies, surgical specimens, and cytology samples to diagnose diseases, including cancers and inflammatory conditions.
- Examine tissue samples grossly and microscopically, interpret findings, and prepare comprehensive pathology reports.
- Collaborate with clinicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide diagnostic and prognostic information that guides patient treatment.
- Ensure accurate processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens in line with laboratory protocols.
- Maintain high standards of quality control, accuracy, and timeliness in diagnostic reporting.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions, such as tumor boards, to support clinical decision-making.
- Comply with all regulatory guidelines, maintain patient confidentiality, and adhere to laboratory safety standards. Requirements & Skills
- Experienced Histopathologist with strong diagnostic expertise and sound professional judgment.
- Excellent analytical skills and keen eye for pattern recognition in microscopic examinations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with medical teams.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to accuracy, ethical practice, and continuous professional development.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Postgraduate fellowship / qualification in Histopathology / Anatomic Pathology (e.g., FWACP, FMCPath, or equivalent).
- Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in histopathology.
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., immunohistochemistry or cytopathology) is an added advantage.
