Medical lab technicians prepare samples for analysis, use equipment to locate microorganisms, monitor tests and procedures, analyze the chemical content of fluids, match blood for transfusions, and test for drug levels in the blood.

What does a medical laboratory scientist do? A medical laboratory scientist (MLS), also known as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist, works to analyze a variety of biological specimens. They are responsible for performing scientific testing on samples and reporting results to physicians

A technologist determines what can be improved in their industry and how to incorporate new technology, finds new ways to resolve problems, and further develops various processes. The technician applies those ideas, completes the actual tasks, and troubleshoots and provides general maintenance on equipment.
