We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Laboratory Attendant III
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Responsibilities
- Assist with set up and maintenance of pathology phenotyping trials in the laboratory, screen house and field.
- Carry out nematode cultures using carrot discs.
- Assist with Pseudocercospora sp. mass production and detached leaf assays.
- Populate and maintain the populations of the banana weevil cosmopolites sordidus.
- Supervise casual workers for implementation of assigned tasks.
- Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- O’level with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.
- Have excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
- Have the ability to use basic Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Have a positive attitude and strong team spirit.
- Have experience in nematode cultures, nematode identification, Pseudocercospora isolation and multiplication, weevil sorting on the sexual dimorphism.
- Have experience with field/lab data collection.
