Attention to all Medical and Dental Practitioners seeking housemanship opportunities.

We are pleased to inform you that vacancies for housemanship placements in federal institutions will be updated on the MDCN portal on Friday 2nd January 2026. All interested applicants intending to serve in federal hospitals are encouraged to check the portal for available slots.

REGISTRATION ON MDCN HOUSEMANSHIP PORTAL  

Please be advised that upon the receipt of your provisional registration certificate during the induction ceremony, you must create your profile on the Housemanship portal. This will grant you access to apply for housemanship positions at any of the 46 federal training institutions nationwide, under the management of the MDCN.

It is important to refrain from directly contacting or sending application letters to federal institutions and to MDCN, either personally or through proxies (including parents), as this is considered a contravention under the Centralized Housemanship Placement System. Such actions may result in denial of access to the portal, as they contravene existing policies.

Important Note  

• Portal updates are strictly for the 46 federal hospitals that are approved for centralized housemanship placement.
• Each hospital has an approved number of slots for doctors based on parameters required for training.
• There is never a time when the portal is closed or opened.
• If a hospital of your choice is not showing, it is because no vacancy exists in that hospital.
• There are 70 non federal hospitals where housemanship placements are available. Applicants are advised to directly approach these institutions for further information on available opportunities.
• The list of approved hospitals for housemanship under the centralized scheme is clearly shown on the MDCN website.

All hospitals (federal, state, private and military) that are accredited for housemanship placement are clearly listed on the MDCN website.
