                                          RECENT ISSUES RAISED BY SOME MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANS

In response to some issues recently raised by a cross-section of medical laboratory technicians regarding their cadre, MLSCN would like to state as follow:

• All stakeholders are valued by MLSCN and their interests will continue to be protected within the ambit of the law.
• Some of the complaints arose from the communication gap between some technicians and the Leadership of the Association of Medical Laboratory Technicians (AMELTAN), who have been in regular contact with MLSCN Management.
• Medical Laboratory Technicians are hereby encouraged to close the communication gap between them and the Leadership of AMELTAN to enable them to receive the necessary updates.
• MLSCN's mandate is clearly stipulated in Act 1! of 2003 and stakeholders are advised to limit their expectations to the provisions of the Act as the Council does not dabble into the internal affairs of other government agencies.
• MLSCN is working relentlessly to resolve all issues affecting medical laboratory technicians and we expect positive outcomes from the efforts.
