Gynescope Specialist Hospital, a leading fertility and gynecological care center in Port Harcourt, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic clinical team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory services to support reproductive medicine and general diagnostics.

JOB VACANCY: MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

Location: Gynescope Specialist Hospital, Port Harcourt
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Laboratory Services (Fertility & Diagnostic Unit

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform routine and specialized laboratory investigations including:

• Hormonal assays (FSH, LH, AMH, Prolactin, etc.)
• Semen analysis and sperm function tests
• Microbiology, hematology, and biochemistry investigations

2. Ensure strict adherence to quality control and quality assurance protocols

3.  Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration, and documentation records

.4. Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and laboratory standards

5. Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of patient results

6. Participate in audit processes and continuous professional development

 

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (BMLS) in Medical Laboratory Science (a chemical pathology major is an added advantage).
• Current practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
• Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience (experience in fertility or reproductive medicine is an added advantage)
• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality control standards
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• High ethical standards and commitment to patient confidentiality
