Job Title: Medical Consultant (Internal Medicine)

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

 

Job Summary

The Internal Medicine Consultant will be responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating a wide range of adult medical conditions.

The role requires clinical excellence, leadership in patient care, and collaboration with other specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage complex medical conditions affecting adult patients.
• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
• Provide specialist consultations and second opinions when required.
• Supervise and support medical officers and junior doctors
• Coordinate patient care with other specialists and healthcare teams.
• Interpret laboratory and diagnostic test results accurately.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
• Participate in ward rounds and patient follow-ups.
• Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.

Requirements and Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

• MBBS or equivalent medical Degree.
• Fellowship (FWACP, FMCP, or equivalent) in Internal Medicine.
• Valid practicing license with MDCN.
• Minimum of 5–8 years post-qualification clinical experience.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Subspecialty interest (e.g., Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, etc.).
• Experience working in a private or multi-specialty hospital.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
