Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Kware, located in Sokoto State, Nigeria, is a federal government-owned specialty hospital focusing on mental health, offering affordable, patient-friendly services, and equipped with modern facilities and equipment.  

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Director / CEO

Location: Kware, Sokoto

 

Responsibilities

• The Medical Director is the Head/Chief Executive of the Institution.
• He/She is accountable to the Board of Management and the Coordinating Minister of Health & Social Welfare.  
• The Medical Director is charged with the responsibility of executing policies and managing the day-to-day affairs of the Hospital.

 

Requirements

Candidates must:

• Be a Medical Practitioner registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria with not less than twelve (12) years post-graduation.
• Be fellows of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, the West African Postgraduate Medical College, or its equivalent registerable by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• Have been Consultants (in the specialty of Psychiatry) duly registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for a minimum of five (5) years.
• Be medically fit (Attach Evidence).
• Be of proven good character and integrity.
• Provide evidence of medical research (an added advantage).
• Possess administrative qualifications and experience (an added advantage).
• Have knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (an added advantage).
• Demonstrate the ability to attract funded grants (an added advantage).

 

Salary and Conditions of Service

• Salary and allowances will be in accordance with the Public Service Salary Structure for this category of officer.

• The Curriculum Vitae must include the names and addresses of three (3) referees, one of whom must be a Senior Medical or Dental Practictioner of NOT LESS than (25) twenty-five years post-qualification experience and who should be in a position to attest to the candidate's academic, professional and managerial abilities as well as moral character and uprightness.
