Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Abia State (Umuire, Near Umuahia)

Description

• The medical laboratory scientist onboards as part of our clinical team to support the provision of excellent clinical care to our patients towards optimum health status. The candidate is innovative, respects patients’ rights, and is in tune with the application of modern health technologies to solving health challenges

Responsibilities

• Work with other clinical team members to deliver excellent patient care
• Responsible for equipment maintenance, trouble shooting and documentation
• Perform all tasks, duties and tests related to laboratory services for patient care
• Ensure timely delivery of laboratory investigation results
• Validate and report results of tests performed
• Institute and carry out quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning of instruments, reagents, procedures, etc
• Ensure fast, efficient and courteous service delivery to clients

Requirements

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from an accredited institution
• Current MLSCN license  
• 2 - 3 years relevant work experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile
• Adequate problem-solving skills
• Ability to pay attention to details
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to demonstrate empathy and good patient management skills  
• Computer literacy and basic knowledge of EMR and pharmacy software
