St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64-bed hospital located in Ogungbade off New Ife road in Ibadan. St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is the vision of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena (Italy). We offer various medical services such as: General medicine, internal medicine, O & G, Laboratory, and Radiology, to mention just a few. The hospital is run in collaboration with foreign partners. We are registered and licensed by the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Health. Also, we are accredited by the NHIS as both primary and secondary health care providers.

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description

• A Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is a healthcare professional responsible for conducting complex tests and analyses on patient samples, such as blood, tissue, and body fluids, to help diagnose and treat diseases.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts laboratory tests and procedures to detect, identify, and quantify various substances in patient samples
• Analyzes and interprets test results, and reports findings to healthcare professionals
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision of results
• Develops and validates new testing methods and procedures
• Participates in quality control and quality assurance activities
• Collaborates with healthcare teams to provide accurate and timely laboratory results

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratoryor related field
• Professional certification (e.g., MLS, MLT, or equivalent)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and teamwork skill.
