Job Title: Medical Officer (Medical Doctor)

Job Summary
- The Medical Officer is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered medical care.
 - They ensure accurate diagnosis, timely treatment, appropriate referrals, and documentation.
 - The role involves both outpatient and inpatient clinical duties and contributes to the overall improvement of patient health outcomes and service excellence in the hospital.
 
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Attend to patients in the outpatient and inpatient units.
 - Take comprehensive patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
 - Make accurate diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
 - Prescribe medications and monitor treatment progress.
 - Refer patients appropriately for specialist care, diagnostics, or admissions.
 - Participate in ward rounds and patient reviews.
 - Handle medical emergencies competently and efficiently.
 - Maintain confidentiality and patient dignity at all times.
 
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
 - Ensure proper documentation of all consultations, investigations, diagnoses, and treatments.
 - Complete all necessary medical reports and discharge summaries.
 
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with nurses, pharmacists, lab scientists, and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
 - Participate in multidisciplinary clinical meetings and case reviews.
 - Supervise interns and clinical assistants when necessary.
 
Compliance and Standards:
- Adhere to hospital policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ethical medical practices.
 - Comply with regulatory and professional licensing standards.
 - Maintain infection control practices and patient safety guidelines.
 
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in regular CME (Continuing Medical Education) and clinical audits.
 - Support hospital quality improvement initiatives.
 - Recommend improvements in clinical practices and hospital protocols.
 
Key Requirements
- Educational Qualification: MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution.
 - License: Fully registered and licensed by the MDCN
 - Good clinical acumen and diagnostic skills.
 - Proficient in the use of electronic medical records.
 - Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
 - Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
 
Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 Monthly.
