Job Title: Medical Officer - Oncology

Location: Benin City, Edo

Employment Type: Full-time

Department: Medical Oncology

Reporting: Functionally reports to the Centre Manager

 

Objective

To provide high-quality medical oncology care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through quality assurance, clinical protocol development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

 

Responsibilities

  • Establish new cancer centers by training staff and implementing SOPs.
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Review medical oncology cases to ensure clinical accuracy and appropriateness of treatment.
  • Ensure treatments align with international standards and evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops for staff.
  • Mentor junior oncologists, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating oncology treatment protocols.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment decision-making.
  • Collaborate with specialists to develop integrated treatment strategies.
  • Review and analyze patient outcomes to identify patterns and propose improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Internal: All departments
  2. External: Clients, potential clients, service providers, and partners

 

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: 3-5 years
  • Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology or related specialty.
  • Proven ability to lead quality assurance initiatives and manage clinical audits.
  • Strong understanding of oncology treatment protocols and evidence-based practices.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team collaboration and delivering case consultations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
  • Active involvement in professional oncology organizations.
  • Familiarity with current technologies and advancements in oncology treatment and research.
