Emel Hospital, Festac Town, Lagos, Nigeria, is a multi-specialist hospital, situated at 21 Road, Z Close in Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Lagos, Nigeria. Emel Hospital is a purpose-built 44-bed hospital situated on a piece of land specially approved for its purpose by the Federal Housing Authority.
Emel Hospital was established in 1988 by Dr. Olufemi Mobolaji-Lawal, a consultant paediatrician. Dr. Mobolaji-Lawal trained as a doctor at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, and as a paediatrician in the United Kingdom. Prior to setting up Emel Hospital, he worked for some time as a consultant paediatrician at Ikeja General Hospital (now Lagos State University Teaching Hospital), Lagos. He is the board chairman, and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Margaret Mobolaji-Lawal is a non-executive director.

Job Title: Midwife
Location: Festac, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Antenatal Care:
- Conduct antenatal assessments and monitor the health of pregnant women.
- Record vital signs, fetal heart rate, and patient history.
- Educate expectant mothers on nutrition, exercise, medications, and pregnancy care.
- Identify high-risk pregnancies and report concerns promptly to doctors.
Labor and Delivery Care;
- Monitor labor progress and provide support during childbirth.
- Assist doctors during delivery procedures when required.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Maintain accurate labor and delivery records.
- Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed.
Postnatal Care:
- Monitor mothers and newborns after delivery.
- Provide breastfeeding support and newborn care education.
- Observe for complications and escalate concerns immediately.
- Educate mothers on postnatal recovery and family planning.
Patient Education and Support:
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
- Counsel patients on maternal and child health issues.
- Promote safe motherhood practices and healthy lifestyles.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and reports.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Participate in ward meetings, trainings, and quality improvement programs.
- Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Midwifery or Nursing.
- 1–3 years of relevant clinical experience is an added advantage.
- Registered Midwife (RM) certification.
- Valid practicing license.
