The Today For Tomorrow Initiative (TFT) is a youth-led non-governmental organization in Nigeria focused on adolescent and youth empowerment, health rights, climate action, and community development. Led by Executive Director Adek Bassey, it operates programs spanning digital skill acquisition, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and gender advocacy.  

We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer

Location: Adamawa

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Framework Development: Design, implement, and manage the project's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework in alignment with MSI Nigeria standards and project objectives.
  • Tool Design & Data Systems: Formulate, field-test, and standardize quantitative and qualitative data collection tools, mobile forms, registers, and databases.
  • Routine Data Collection Oversight: Lead data collection processes across all five target LGAs, ensuring data collection protocols, ethical standards, and confidentiality are maintained by field team members.
  • Data Quality Assurance (DQA): Perform regular routine data quality assessments, audit field registers, and run validation checks to ensure high levels of data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Indicator & Outcome Tracking: Track performance against core project metrics, including total beneficiaries reached through outreach, total referrals generated, verified service uptake, and follow-up completion rates.
  • Referral Tracking & Verification: Monitor and trace referral pathways from community-level identification by CRCs through to service completion at PHCs, clinics, and One Stop Centers.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze field data to compile monthly and quarterly M&E reports, highlight project trends, track progress toward targets, and support decision-making.
  • Learning & Knowledge  Management: Capture and document project lessons learned, best practices, case studies, and success stories to feed into organizational learning and project reviews.
  • Activity Documentation & Reporting: Ensure detailed documentation of field activities, produce comprehensive progress reports, and verify compliance with all donor and organizational reporting standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Demography, Public Health, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification in M&E is an added advantage.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on M&E experience in donor-funded public health or protection projects (e.g., SRHR, SGBV, maternal and child health).
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in designing M&E frameworks, logical frameworks, indicator tracking tables, and data collection instruments (both quantitative and qualitative).
  • Software & Tools: Proficient in mobile data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare) and data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, Excel, Power BI).
  • Data Quality & Verification: Strong background in conducting Routine Data Quality Assessments (RDQAs), field verification, and managing community-level referral tracking systems.
  • Key Skills: High analytical ability, meticulous attention to detail, strong data visualization and technical reporting skills; fluency in English and working knowledge of local languages spoken in Adamawa.
