Job Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Officer - Vaccine Acceptance

Location: Abuja

Reports to: Director Research, Monitoring and Quality Assurance

Job Description  

The Vaccine Acceptance M&E Officer will carry out the following activities among many others:

  • Work closely with the NPHCDA to design, integrate findings from knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) surveys, focus group discussions and other feedback into the demand generation and communication activities and products
  • Oversee all aspects of evidence synthesis, monitoring and evaluation work of the demand generation and communication pillar
  • Partner with team colleagues at NPHCDA and other agencies on vaccine confidence studies and data collection metrics to guide all ACSM activities
  • Support the coordination and implementation of infodemic management of COVID-19 and its vaccines among the government agencies and partners
  • Lead the evidence generation for social and behavioral insights for ACSM intervention deployment
  • Disseminate vaccine confidence survey outcome to the government and partners to guide ACSM
  • Expand the NPHCDA social listening and rumour tracking interventions to be sensitive to detect problematic statements and/or conversations that can hamper the program objectives
  • Identify credible channels to disseminate information about the COVID-19 vaccines
  • Perform any other related incident-specific duties, as required by the functional supervisor
  • Conduct data simulation using different data sets

Requirements

Education Qualifications:

  • Master's in Public Health with first University Degree in Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Development Sciences, Communications, IT or Public Health from an accredited/recognized Institute.
  • Training in Public Health, Health Education, Health Communication or Health Promotion is desirable.

Experience:

  • At least 7 plus years of related experience, at the national level, in ACSM, health promotion, emergency management, part of which working in vaccine acceptance and demand.
  • Proven experience in in the development and implementation of ACSM strategies and plans.

Desirable:

  • Prior working experience with recognized humanitarian organizations in Nigeria.
  • Management or project management experience.
  • Expert in synthesizing both qualitative and qualitative data for behavioral insights
  • Use of Language Skills
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Working knowledge of the local language is highly desirable.
  • Other Skills (e.g. IT)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of the WHO infodemic tools and other social listening tools
  • Working knowledge of DHIS2, QGIS and other mapping tools, Hootsuit, NVIvo and MAXQDA
  • Qualitative and quantitative skills for problem solving
  • Ability to work within government MDA.
