The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) hereby informs all foreign-trained graduates of medicine and Dentistry who have obtained medical or dental degree programmes to update their knowledge and skills in line with the standards required for medical and dental practices in Nigeria.

The Programme is scheduled to take place from Monday, 16 February 2026 to Friday 14 August 2026 at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Abuja.

 

Eligibility Criteria

I. The Programme is for medical and dental graduates who have completed their training and obtained a medical/dental degree certificate from the country of training.

II. Submissions will be reviewed, and only eligible candidates will be enrolled.

III. Note that online coursework and unregulated "clinical rotation in home country" are not acceptable to MDCN.

 

Requirements For Registration

Registration should be done through the MDCN website: www.portal.mdcn.gov.ng/remdiation/programme

Interested applicants are also required to provide electronic copies of the following:

1. Photocopies of all relevant academic qualifications i.e GCE/SSCE/NECO or equivalent (with five (5) credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings), and medical/dental degree certificates.

2. Relevant portions of the international Passport (Visa, Arrival & Departure pages).

3. Colour Passport-size photograph.

4. Birth certificate or statutory declaration of age.

The Registration Portal will open on Monday, 26 January 2026

 

Non-Refundable Training Fee for the Remediation Programme

I. One million two hundred thousand naira only (1,200,000.00) per applicant.

II. Other charges (Dental materials for dental applicants only): N100,000.00

Please note that the fee is exclusive of Accommodation and feeding.

 

Important Notice to Those Affected By Ukraine and Sudan Conflicts.

This is a final call and is compulsory for those whose training was disrupted by the 2022 Ukraine war and the 2024 Sudan conflict. Such applicants will be allowed to register for the Remediation programme (applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
