The country commenced a nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign with the 1st phase on March 5th, 2021, in all the 36 States and FCT, targeting health and other front line workers with potent COVID-19 vaccines, which were approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and certified by NAFDAC. The phase 2 COVID-19 vaccination is ongoing in all the 36 states plus the Federal Capital Territory, targeting all eligible population (18 years and above) who are yet to be vaccinated.
As part of the strategy for this COVID-19 2nd phase vaccination, NPHCDA is working with the States to make special arrangement for staff of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and Corporate organizations (public and private) including their dependents and retirees to get vaccinated at their convenience.
