National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) Public Announcement on Covid-19 Vaccination

As part of efforts to interrupt the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria, the Federal Government through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) plans to vaccinate all eligible 111,776,503 in the country (18 years and above) with safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines over the next two (2) years. 

The country commenced a nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign with the 1st phase on March 5th, 2021, in all the 36 States and FCT, targeting health and other front line workers with potent COVID-19 vaccines, which were approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and certified by NAFDAC. The phase 2 COVID-19 vaccination is ongoing in all the 36 states plus the Federal Capital Territory, targeting all eligible population (18 years and above) who are yet to be vaccinated. 

As part of the strategy for this COVID-19 2nd phase vaccination, NPHCDA is working with the States to make special arrangement for staff of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and Corporate organizations (public and private) including their dependents and retirees to get vaccinated at their convenience. 

We therefore urge concerned MDAs and organizations (public and private) whose staff and families are yet to be vaccinated to visit the NPHCDA website as follows: https://forms.gle/grgLlGsRnSUGa nc7 Interested MDAs and Organizations should kindly fill the form with the required information to enable NPHCDA make the necessary arrangements with the states for this exercise. 

Those who have taken their first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine already should go for the second dose. The list of designated health facilities is on NPHCDA website.

Vaccines are safe, effective and free of charge. Vaccination cards are to be issued ONLY after an individual has been vaccinated
