The Board of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has approved the rescheduling of the Professional Examination for General / Post Basic Nurses From 2nd – 5th May 2020 to 2nd – 5th June, 2020. This becomes necessary to enable the institutions settle down and fill the existing gaps created by lockdown order of the Federal government as a result of novel- COVID-19 pandemic.

As you are aware, the Professional Examination for General / Post Basic Nurses is usually conducted in the first week of May each year. However, May 2020 professional examination for General / Post Basic Nurses will not hold as usual due to circumstances beyond our control in relation to novel – COVID-19 pandemic.

Subsequently, please note that all necessary preparations, rules and regulations guiding the professional examination of the council must be observed and all heads to the institution(s) are advised to use e-learning approach in preparing their candidates.

Kindly, bring the content of this circular to the knowledge of all concern.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria sincerely regrets all inconveniences that might occur as a result of this change.
