The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board was first established by Kaduna State Government via edict No. 7 of 1978. The same edict was modified and adapted under CAP 63 of the laws of Katsina State of Nigeria. In 1993, the Board was merged with the State Ministry of Health through an Executive order. However, it was reactivated on 30th March, 1998 operate autonomously, with a Governing Board under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The Board has under control all staff at the Headquarters, State Medical store, Government House Clinic, Psychiatric Hospital as well as all those working at the 18 General Hospital in the Katsina, Daura, Funtua, Malumdfashi, Mani, Kankia, Dutsinma, Batsari, Baure, Babbaruga, Rimi, Ingawa, Musawa, Kankara and Danmusa.

Job Title: Nursing Officer III
Location: Katsina

Job Description
- The Nursing Officer III is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients within KTHSMB healthcare facilities.
- The role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments and medications, monitoring patient progress, and supporting medical practitioners in clinical procedures.
- The officer will ensure compliance with nursing standards, infection prevention protocols, and ethical practices while contributing to patient education and overall healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in assigned units
- Assess, plan, and implement patient care interventions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and progress
- Assist doctors during clinical procedures and examinations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and care plans
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the clinical environment
Requirements & Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification
- Valid practicing license
- Good clinical and patient care skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Relevant experience.
