We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Nursing Officer

Location: Abia State (Umuire, Near Umuahia)

Description

  • The nursing officer onboards as part of our clinical team to support the provision of excellent clinical care to our patients towards optimum health status. The candidate is innovative, respects patients’ rights, and is in tune with the application of modern health technologies to solving health challenges

Responsibilities

  • Counsel patients and care-givers on appropriate health and well-being principles and methods
  • Provide excellent, evidence-based, patient-centred nursing care to all patients
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor them for side effects and reactions  
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical information
  • Monitor, report, and record symptoms or changes in patient conditions
  • Modify patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses
  • Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
  • Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborate with physicians and other nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
  • Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
  • Respect patients’ rights and maintain confidentiality  
  • Correctly keep clinical notes and other necessary health records
  • Make use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other care-enhancing automation tools  for patient care
  • Maintain teamwork and work in cooperation with other members of the clinical and administrative team, thereby contributing to proper care coordination
  • Support the planning and execution of preventive and community wellness programmes and outreaches of the hospital
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required

Requirements

  • RN, RN/RM
  • Bachelors of Nursing Science is added advantage
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid License - Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
  • Highly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile
  • Adequate problem-solving skills
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and good patient management skills  
  • Computer literacy and basic knowledge of EMR
