Job Title: Nursing Services Coordinator
Location: Maitama, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Assesses nursing services by making rounds, conductingchart reviews and evaluates patient care.
- Ensures that patients' safety and rights are upheld in the ward/department.
- Ensures patients' privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Responsible for the identification and development of the senior nurses to become effective mentors/ supervisors in clinical practice.
- Manages and conducts probationary and annual performance appraisal on assigned nurses and other staff where relevant
- Setting personal objectives and identifying any personal development.
- Counsels and disciplines nursing staff when needed following agreed organisation policy and procedures.
- Participates in selection, recruitment, orientation and training of nursing officers.
- Ensures patients are cared for in a clean and safe environment taking remedial action if standards are not attained.
- Be the champion for driving the infection prevention and control agenda and challenging poor practice.
- Manage and respond to complaints and adverse incidents.
- Undertake root cause analysis and develop action plans,ensuring that this leads to change in practice.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and medical team to contribute to the active resolution of potentially complex situations, conflicts and issues.
- Share best practice and drive improvements in patient care through the Clinical meeting and nurse supervisors' Forum.
- Be responsible for monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards within clinical teams and all units of the nursing department.
- Supervising of all the registers with complete details
- Coordinates regular team meetings to ensure consistency and drive change within the hospital and patient care.
- Responsible for maintaining personnel operations including performance appraisals, daily KPI monitoring and assist in staff audit.
- Promotes and monitors regulatory agency standards and customer service expectations for the practice in all aspects of nursing
- Provides leadership and guidance to assigned staff.
- Identifies learning opportunities, provides effective coaching and feedback, and develops corrective action plans as appropriate.
- Effectively intercedes with family and patients and resolves concerns related to the delivery of health care services.
- Assesses trends and developments in health care and nursing; identifies program needs, and projects the impact of changes on programs and services.
- Provides information and guidance in the development of policies and standards of nursing practice for new programs; adapts nursing procedures and practices to meet the changing needs of nursing and health care programs.
- Collaborates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive staff, and other stakeholders in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program services.
- Evaluates staff competencies by direct observation, peer overview, orientation and employee input, documenting this in the appropriate system.
- To strive for effective partnership working with other health and social care providers in the area which supports seamless care for all patients within Nova Medi Clinic
- QMS Implementer for the nursing department and the hospital at large.
- Responsible for the yearly strategic direction and monitoring implementation of the strategies of the nursing department in connection with the overall organizational strategy.
- Quarterly/half yearly assessment report on nursing department’s strategy for the year.
- Prepares monthly/quarterly/yearly work plan and report to management of job function.
- Any other Adhoc duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least 5 years leadership experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Salary
N200,000 - N350,000 Monthly.
