Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nutrition Program Officer to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of WIMROF's nutrition-focused initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving the health and well-being of underserved communities by developing and delivering targeted nutrition programs.
This includes working closely with the programs and health teams to promote sustainable nutrition practices and ensure measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement nutrition programs that address the specific needs of target communities.
- Conduct assessments to identify nutritional gaps and develop intervention strategies.
- Provide technical guidance on nutrition-related issues to WIMROF staff and stakeholders.
- Develop educational materials and organize training sessions on healthy eating and nutrition.
- Collaborate with the health and program teams to integrate nutrition into broader health initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate program impact through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Liaise with community leaders and stakeholders to promote program acceptance and participation.
- Prepare program reports for internal use and donor reporting.
- Stay updated on global best practices and guidelines related to nutrition and health.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing nutrition programs.
- Strong knowledge of community-based nutrition strategies and interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and produce clear, actionable reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with underserved communities is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
