Job Description

As an Optometrist at Ashmed Specialist Hospital, You will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive eye care to our patients, conducting routine eye exams, diagnosing vision problems, and prescribing corrective lenses and treatment plans.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct full eye health and vision examinations using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Diagnose and manage vision disorders such as myopia, hyperopia, glaucoma, and cataracts.
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, GPs, and other healthcare providers.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care and visual hygiene.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in line with regulatory requirements.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (OD) in Optometry from a recognised institution.
  • Current practising license from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-NYSC clinical experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a patient-centred approach to care.
