We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Optometrist

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our vibrant team.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess the visual acuity and health of patients.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and conditions, including prescribing medications when necessary.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses based on individual patient needs.
• Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and the use and care of eyewear and contact lenses.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with clinic protocols.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care and referrals.
• Stay current with the latest developments in optometry practices and technology.
• Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the clinic.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from a recognized institution.
• Valid license to practice optometry in Nigeria.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Proficient in using optical diagnostic equipment and technology.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Relevant Skills:

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of ocular pharmacology and treatment protocols.
• Proficient in handling and interpreting visual field tests, fund us photography, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Exceptional patient care skills and a compassionate approach.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (ed for candidates to be based in or near Lagos Island.
