Job Title: Orthodontist

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Employment Type: Contract

Reports To: Clinic Manager

 

Job Summary

  • Responsible for diagnosing, preventing, correcting, and treating dental malocclusions, misaligned teeth and jaws to help patients achieve optimal oral health and aesthetic results using a range of fixed and removable appliances.
  • You will work collaboratively with our general dentists, hygienists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive and customized orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed orthodontic assessments, including diagnostic records, X-rays, 3D Scans and imagining, and Photographs
  • Examine patients to assess dental and jaw development, misalignment, and treatment needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using traditional braces, clear aligners (e.g., Invisalign), retainers, and other orthodontic appliances
  • Educate patients and guardiancies on oral hygiene, appliance care and treatment expectations, maintenance and use of orthodontic devices
  • Collaborate with general dentists and other specialist within the clinic for integrated treatment planning.
  • Monitor treatment progress and make necessary adjustments to appliances.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with dental regulations and safety standards.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and techniques in orthodontics and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma with courses in Biology, Chemistry, Health Sciences or related fields with degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine.
  • Completion of a certified dental lab technology program, Dental certification and license/ Orthodontic certification.
  • Minimum of 2years of clinical orthodontic practice
  • Experience with clear aligner systems (e.g. Invisalign)
  • Proficiency in digital orthodontics and 3D treatment planning
  • Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
  • Sound knowledge of the legal and regulatory standards in dental care
  • Team Collaboration
  • Experience working in a dental lab setting
  • Detail-oriented with good manual dexterity
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
