There was pandemonium yesterday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, Lagos, following a fire outbreak at the Information and communication technologies (ICT) unit of the hospital.

The incident left patients, their families and workers scampering for safety. However, a swift response from the State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) prevented the fire from escalating to other departments.

Speaking on the incident, Director, of LSFRS, Margaret Adeseye, said the fire originated in the ICT room of the hospital, situated at the Hematology Clinic of the Pre-Pharmacy block.
