Paediatric Association of Nigeria Congratulations Message to His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR as Nigeria Becomes Wild Polio Free

Posted on: Mon 13-07-2020

On behalf of the EXCO and entire members of the Paediatric Association of Nigeria, I hereby warmly congratulate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for making it possible for Nigeria to be out of the league of Wild Polio Virus endemic countries of the world.

Considering that the country has been battling for many years without getting it right, it is exceedingly gratifying that President Muhammadu Buhari has been able to pull the right strings after all.

Certainly, there is no magic wand to resort to in the fight against the wild Polio virus. It is about putting the right policies in the right places and releasing the appropriate funds at the appropriate time.

President Buhari takes the credit for taking all the right decisions and at the right times.

All our members and indeed all Nigerians are happy with the great efforts made by the National Primary Health care Development Agency, especially in the past four years.

We commend the Executive Director/CEO of NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, is management and all the members of staff of the Agency for a job well done.

The Paediatric Association of Nigeria join parents, caregivers, mothers and all children in Nigeria in congratulating the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Primary Health care Development Agency on winning the war against the Wild Polio Virus.

Congratulations, Nigerians on the declaration by the World Health Organization of Nigeria as Wild Polio Virus Free nation.

We are free at last!

Signed

Dr. Edward Aliko
