Job Title: Peri-Operative Nurse

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

The Peri-Operative Nurse will support surgical procedures by providing high-quality nursing care before, during, and after operations.

The role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms and ensure the availability of required instruments and equipment
  • Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures while maintaining a sterile environment
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition throughout the perioperative phase
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, including patient assessment, documentationand recovery support
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards
  • Maintain accurate surgical records and adhere to safety and quality protocols
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to improve workflow and patient experience.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license.
  • Certification or formal training in perioperative nursing is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Previous experience in surgical or theatre nursing settings
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniquesand operating room (OR)protocols
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
