Job Title: Pharmacy Supervisor

Contract Period: 6 months (With possibility of extension)

Level: 7

Contract: 208 working hours per month

Main Purpose

Ensuring general functioning of the pharmacy and supervising pharmacy supply chain processes in accordance with MSF standards, protocols and procedures, in order to ensure its efficiency and operating availability.

Job Description

  • Ensuring storage, stock management and supply processes, as well as hygiene and security procedures, tools, and protocols (controlling pests and rodents), implementing appropriate quality controls and records, in order to ensure good storage conditions (temperatures, humidity and light exposure) and availability of drugs and medical materials.
  • Coordinating the delivery, reception and recording of international and local orders, in close coordination with the logistics department, updating stock files and informing line managers on their status (shortfalls, over-stocking, expiry dates).
  • Supervising orders of medical and drug material in order to ensure an efficient and appropriate consumption pattern under budget constraints.
  • Supervising the supply of drugs to patients, according to medical prescriptions, informing them on consumption patterns and keeping conditions in order to ensure their therapeutic progression
  • Recording all items received and issued on the stock cards and in computer (Isystock) and reporting on drug consumptions and medical equipment dispensed according to protocols, informing on unusual patterns as well as forecasting future needs, in order to rationalise the budget and to ensure availability.
  • Assisting in training of nursing staff regarding dispensing of drugs and their side effects.
  • Follow up biomedical equipments to ensure availabilty especially back-ups and rational use, with non-functional items returned back to pharmacy.
  • Follow up and analyze activities to identify gaps and provide training of team especially pharmacy team to build capacity especially for MOH staffs for sustainability of activities.
  • Prepare orders correctly in time and follow up for supply from the capital. Support the preparation of IMO.
  • Follow up stock consumption in the wards of the hospital and in the PHCCs especially to ensure rational prescription and rational use of drugs according to MSF protocols.
  • Properly plan and coordinate pharmacy and related activities, inventory, requisition, consumption, extra orders, ruptures, expiry etc. Do analysis of stock and keep supervisor and the team informed, to avoid ruptures, follow up consumption and take decisions (with PMR support) on stocks in time and ensure good functioning of the pharmacy.  

Requirements

Education Desirable: Degree in Pharmacy Management, Nursing or related studies.

Experience:

  • Essential: 1 - 2 years cognate experience as Pharmacy Manager.
  • Experience with MSF or other International NGOs in Developing countries, experience working in an international environment.
  • Language: Mission language essential.
  • Knowledge Essential: Computer literacy (Word, Excel and Internet).

Gross Monthly Salary

According to MSF National Salary Scale.
