Job Title: Registered Nurse/Midwife  

Job: Full Time

Qualification: RN/RM, BSc Nursing

Location: Port Harcourt

Job Summary : 

We are currently recruiting for the role of a Nurse/Midwife. The Nurse would be involved in ensuring that patients receive quality and effective nursing care promptly. Involved in monitoring labour, providing information, emotional support and reassurance to women and their spouses.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:  

• Process patients through doctors for checks and handling
• Dispense, administer and monitor prescribed medications
• Prepare patients for examination/surgery
• Prepare and admit patients and discharge charting cost
• Knowledge and compliance to SOP/Protocols/Policies in the discharge of Nursing/Midwifery duties
• Organizing and Coordinating classes for pregnant women in the hospital
• Caring for and assisting women in labour
• Monitoring the fetus during labour
• General education on family planning
• Document and keep records of procedures/surgeries carried out in the theatre
• Ensure all equipment needed are available and handy for the smooth running of the clinic
• Ensure all inpatients are well taken care of
• Ensure that all charts for inpatient clinic are available and handy

Job Specification:  

• RN/Post basic midwifery nursing from any accredited school of nursing or university
• Minimum of 3years' experience in midwifery nursing from a reputable hospital
• BLS/ACLS is an added advantage
• Sufficient clinical knowledge
