Abuja, Nigeria – July 21, 2025 – The National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) has announced the suspension of the implementation of recent circulars concerning allowances for medical, dental, and other health professionals in the federal public service. The decision was made following a meeting of the Presidential Committee on Salaries (PCS), chaired by the Hon. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, held on July 18, 2025.

However, their implementation has been put on hold to allow for further consultations with various professional associations and unions in the health and education sectors.

The announcement, signed by Ekpo U. O. Nta, Esq., Chairman/CEO of NSIWC, was addressed to key government officials, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Honourable Ministers, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and heads of federal commissions and agencies.
