Job Title: School Nurse

Location: Ondo
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Student Health Assessments: Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify student health needs.
• Medical Care and First Aid: Provide medical care, first aid, and emergency response for students and staff.
• Health Education: Develop and implement health education programs, workshops, and presentations for students, staff, and parents.
• Chronic Condition Management: Develop and implement care plans for students with chronic conditions, such as malaria, asthma, and sickle cell disease.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications, monitor dosages, and maintain accurate records.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Developing School Health Policies: Collaborate with administrators to develop and update school health policies and procedures.
• Providing Staff Support: Provide health guidance, support, and resources to staff members.
• Coordinating Health Services: Coordinate with local healthcare providers, hospitals, and community resources to ensure continuity of care.
• Managing School Health Programs: Oversee school health programs, such as malaria prevention and control.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Licensure: Current registered nurse (RN) licensure in Nigeria.
• Education:Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in pediatrics, public health, or school nursing.
• Certifications: Certification in school nursing (e.g., NCSN) or pediatrics (e.g., PALS) preferred.
• Skills:Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

• School Setting: Work in a school setting, with frequent interactions with students, staff, and parents.
• Flexible Schedule: May require flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, for parent-teacher conferences, health fairs, or other events.
