We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: School Nurse

Location: Sagamu, Ogun

Employment Type: Full-time

 

Key Responsibilities

Health Care Services:

  • Provide first aid and emergency care for illness or injury during school hours.
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate logs.
  • Monitor students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, epilepsy) and ensure care plans are in place.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to health-related incidents on campus.

 

Health Records & Documentation:

  • Maintain up-to-date health records for all students in compliance with school policy and regulations.
  • Document incidents, treatments, and communications with parents/guardians.
  • Ensure immunization records are current and follow up on outstanding requirements.

 

Health Education & Promotion:

  • Educate students and staff on hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Support school-wide health initiatives (e.g., wellness programs, mental health awareness).

 

Infection Control & Environmental Health:

  • Monitor and manage communicable disease cases and outbreaks in accordance with public health guidelines.
  • Implement and oversee infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, sanitization, and sick bay cleanliness.

 

Liaison & Communication:

  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns or emergencies.
  • Coordinate with local health authorities, medical personnel, and school counselors when necessary.
  • Work closely with staff to identify and support students with special health needs.

 

Administrative Duties:

  • Prepare regular reports on student health trends, medical incidents, and nursing activities.
  • Ensure the sick bay/clinic is adequately stocked and equipment is maintained.
  • Review and update the school’s health policies as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with at least 3 years of work experience.
