Job Purpose

  • The incumbent who is a member of the Continuum of Care and Treatment (CoCT) subunit, will support the provision of quality assurance/improvement focused technical assistance and serve as subject matter expert regarding process improvement initiatives across Adult ART, care and support, facility and community surge activities at the satellite command. The job holder will provide periodic updates to the State technical.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides direct technical assistance to health care facilities supported by CIHP and be responsible for coordinating and managing the technical services essential to the functioning and effective implementation of the Adult ART and care & Treatment programs to achieve assigned targets across supported facilities.
  • Builds capacity of facility personnel to better implement their role in the technical planning, management and evaluation of clinical issues related to HIV/AIDS Treatment programs.
  • Provides technical support in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities and strategies on Adult ART, inclusive of Advanced HIV Disease.
  • Facilitates the treatment and retention for all client populations using relevant and proven approaches.
  • Facilitates viral load optimization value chain management across the facilities for all client populations using proven and innovative strategies.
  • Supports the enhancement of NCD integration.
  • Provides support for community ART services which include linkages, CD4, VL coverage and suppression.
  • Provides on-going mentoring and supervision to facility clinicians; serve as a resource for quality service improvement, evaluation, and delivery.
  • Inspires the facility care team to perform or out-perform the facility target by aligning facility team goals, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Strengthen the uptake of differentiated care models.
  • Support the state treatment support team in the management of client treatment failure to facilitate viral suppression.
  • Support the establishment/strengthening of an effective intra and inter-facility patient navigation and linkages system.
  • Support the Kogi state team to achieve assigned targets.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the State Program Manager/Supervising Director and his/her designate.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Degree in Medicine, Public Health or a related field; or a Master’s Degree or equivalent in public health.
  • At least 4 years’ post NYSC experience in developing country health care programs or program support function
  • Knowledge of the policies, regulations, reporting formats, and cultures of principal donors, including USAID, EC, DFID, CDC/PEPFAR, and others
  • Extensive clinical experience in care and treatment of HIV/AIDS patients
  • Demonstrated experience in non-profit sector in a program management role
  • Strong supervisory and management skills

  • Cross learning capacity
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and make reasoned judgments in a timely fashion.
  • Committing to a course of action without undue delay or prevarication.
