Job Title: Technical Assistant - Laboratory Services PCR

Job Description
- This position will support the implementation of high-quality laboratory services within the HIV care and treatment project in Nigeria.
- The assistant will help strengthen laboratory capacity at project-supported health facilities by providing operational support and assisting with technical tasks. Under the guidance of senior laboratory personnel, the assistant will contribute to the development and implementation of quality control and assurance systems, particularly for PCR laboratory functions at designated facilities.
Minimum Recruitment Standard
- BSc in Laboratory Sciences or related field with 1-3 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in provision of laboratory support for HIV/AIDS.
- Or master’s degree in laboratory sciences or related field with 1-2 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in provision of laboratory support for PCR Laboratories.
- Excellent working knowledge of PCR equipment and techniques for the HIV PCR for qualitative Early Infant Diagnosis and viral load measurement.
- At least One years’ work experience in a management or quality role within a clinical laboratory for qualitative lily testing for Early Infant Diagnosis and viral load measurement including experience with laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems and implementation.
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs highly desirable.
- ·Certification of license to practice as a medical laboratory scientist in Nigeria is required.
