The Management of University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo hereby, invites applications from and suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of the Chief Medical Director.

Job Title: Chief Medical Director/CEO

Location: Akwa Ibom

 

Requirements:

Interested candidates must have the following qualifications:

1. Candidates must be a Medical or Dental Practitioner registered with be a Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with not less than Twelve (12) years post-qualification.

2. Candidate must possess a current practicing license from MDCN;

3. Candidate must be a Fellow of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African Postgraduate Medical College, or equivalent.

4. Candidate must have been a Consultant for a minimum of five (5).

5. Candidate must be medically fit (attach evidence);  

6. Candidate must be of proven good character and integrity;

7. Evidence of Medical Researches is an added advantage.

8. Administration qualification and experience are added advantages.

9. Knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

10. Attraction of funded grants by an individual candidate is an added advantage.

 

Responsibilities

• The Chief Medical Director is the Head/Chief Executive of the institution. He is accountable to the Board of Management and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
• The Chief Medical Director is charged with the responsibility of the execution of policies and matters affecting the day-to-day management of the hospital.

 

Salary and Allowances

• Salary and Allowances Will be in accordance with the Public Services Salary Structure for this category of officer.

• The candidate should enclose his/her Vision Statement for the Hospital for the next four (4) years, in not more than 1000words.
• The Curriculum Vitae must include the names and addresses of three(3) referees, one of whom must be a Senior Medical or Dental Practitioner of NOT LESS than Twenty (20) years post qualification experience and who should be in a position to attest to the candidate's academic, professional and managerial abilities as well as moral character and uprightness. This should be accompanied by Recommendation letters from the referees.
