Position: Health Officer
 
Location: Borno
 
Job Summary
The Health Officer will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report to the Nutrition Deputy Program Manager. He/she will support the implementation of health component and community approach through regular contact and exchange with community and identify the community volunteers to be trained for acute malnutrition case identification and referral as well as public health promotion activities. The Health Officer will participate in the design and implementation of training workshops for community volunteers and also conduct regular monitoring and supervision in respective hospitals to ensure quality of CMAM In-Patient services.
 
The successful candidate will;
• Have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Health, Nutrition, Nursing or related field. Higher level Degree preferred.
• Have a minimum of 2 years working experience in similar setting, with at least 1 year in conflict/insecure context.
• Have previous experience in CMAM, IYCF and community mobilization.
• Be flexible, able and willing to frequently travel to villages and stay on the field.
• Have the capacity to supervise and coach health workers.
• Have excellent Microsoft office, statistical proficiency and project management skills.
• Be fluent in English and other local languages preferably.
• Have previous experience in managing mobilization in different interventions (i.e. cash transfers, WASH, Nutrition, Health).
 
 
Position: Nutrition Officer
 
Location Borno
 
Job Summary
The Nutrition officer will directly report to the Nutrition Deputy Program Manager and will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Nutrition component (porridge mums) of the cash transfer program of Action Against Hunger in Borno State, Nigeria. He/she will facilitate program coordination, monitoring and evaluation of nutrition and health related activities. The Nutrition Officer will also coordinate the training, capacity building and ensure proper management of Nutrition and Health Assistants.
 
The successful candidate will;
• Have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Health, Nutrition, Nursing or related field. Higher level Degree preferred.

Position: Health Assistant
 
Location Borno
 
Job Summary
The Health Assistant will be based in Maiduguri, Borno state, with frequent travel to the field. He/she will report to the Health Officer and also provide support in implementing community health groups (CHGs) within the population for each health facility targeted by CMAM. In collaboration with the community volunteers and as needed the health facility staffs, mobilizes the community for nutrition activities (detection of case, referral, follow-up). The Health Assistant will support the community volunteers in building up of the community mobilization network system in communities and follow-up implementation of activities.
 
The successful candidate will;
• Have a minimum of Higher National Diploma in Nursing or health related field.
• Have the ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field
• Have the willingness and capacity to be flexible, supervise and coach.
• Be professional, motivated and culturally sensitive.
• Have and project management and representation competencies.
• Have excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
• Be willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
• Be Fluent in English and other local language (Hausa, Kanuri).
 
 
Position: Community Mobilization Assistant
 
Location Borno
 
Job Summary
The Community Mobilization Assistant will support the Community Mobilization Officer in delivering all outputs of the CDGP projects at the local government level. He/she will provide support to the implementation of project's community mobilization strategy for nutritional education and counseling and also be responsible for ensuring the process of identifying, enrollment and training of target beneficiaries are carried out. The Community Mobilization Assistant will also work closely with the Nutrition Team to ensure the formation of IYCF mother support groups.
 
The successful candidate will;
• Have a minimum of HND in Health Education or related field.
• Have experience in CMAM/IYCF and community mobilization.
• Have a minimum of 1 year experience within the humanitarian sector preferably.
• Have the ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.
• Have strategic thinking, planning, reporting and communication skills.
• Have the willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to screening sites.
• Be capable to supervise and coach community volunteers.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Be professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive.
• Have excellent team, budget and project management and representation competencies.
• Be resident of community area (LGA) of work and proficient with local languages (Hausa)
• Have a previous NGO experience managing mobilization in different interventions (i.e. cash transfers, WASH, Nutrition) preferably.
